Chennai-based Rajalakshmi Group to manufacture wind turbines

Rajalakshmi Group, Chennai is well known name in the education field. According to media reports the group is planning to set up wind turbine manufacturing unit with technology support from Vensys, Germany. Ventus Power, a subsidiary of Rajalakshmi Renewables Pvt Ltd will launch a 4MW turbine by 2025. Vensys with its permanent magnet drive technology was working in India with another company in the renewable energy sector. According to Vensys there aren’t enough turbines available in India that are suitable for the low-wind-speed regimes in the country and its technology is “tried and tested” for the Indian market.
