A tribute to Mr T. Ramamurthy, Formerly Supervisor, Composites Technology Centre, IIT Madras
We would like to share the sad demise of Mr T. Ramamurthy on 21st April 2024 at Chennai, who worked as a supervisor at Composites Technology Centre, IIT Madras and retired in the year 2003. He has made immense contribution to the training programmes organized by FRP Institute as a master technician, handling the practical sessions very effectively in the training programmes. Those who have participated in the training programmes organized by FRP Institute will definitely remember and will appreciate the knowledge he has shared in FRP product making and also the skills that he has imparted in pattern and mould making as well.
It is a great loss not only to his family but also to the Indian Composites Industry and he has made great contribution for the training of many skilled technicians not only through FRP Institute but also while working at IIT Madras. After retirement from IIT Madras, he has also helped many research scholars and students from various educational institutions for their project work in the field of FRP composites. His dedication, sincerity, hard work and his passion while making arrangements for the training progammes, including display of range of raw materials available for the product making and also display of FRP products were well appreciated by the participants. The success of training programmes organized by FRP Institute would not have been possible without his contribution. His association with Dr. N.G. Nair and his contribution to the skill development and product making at IIT Madras are well known.
